Provocative music videos censured in the future

Recently there have been many complaints about the content of music videos, and the government is planning to take action. These complaints mostly come from worried parents who do not want their children watching inappropriate music videos. The government agrees with parents by launching a report. This report helps parents to add complaints and to check the content of music videos. Parents are also helping setting standards on music videos, which help determine what is appropriate to view on the media. Franchises are also being controlled to stem pupils from buying them and using them in schools. A well-known example of a provocative music video is the latest video of singer Rihanna. She has already received many complaints from parents. However this is not the first report sent to the government, there have been three previous report sent, with no results.

Opinion
I agree with the parents. Music videos are displaying inappropriate content daily, and nothing is being done about it. The videos should be censured, or the content should be adapted to the viewers. Children should not watch these videos at an early age, even in their early teens they could be influenced. This influence is clearly seen; especially girls dress skimpy, giving the wrong message.

  1. I agree with Baan. I think there are things to see in music videos which are not appropriate for children. I think that there should be a revised music video when children are still wake during the day. I guess a time when all children are about to sleep is a perfect time to show the original video.

  2. There is already such a law in actions which most of us should have noticed if we watch tv after 9 and 12 PM.

I don't think music video's could influence anyone to start dressing skimpy.
Otherwise we'd all walk around half naked rubbing ourselves with shampoo.

And baan, giving the wrong message? Clothes say nothing, and especially not regarding sex.
The way you dress is not an invation, even if you walk around naked with neon signs on your head.
There should be more awerness about sexual intimidation and assault instead of victim blaming.

Sorry for the harsh response, I'm a bit grumpy today D:
